A multi-functional complex with restaurant at ground floor and office spaces above. The architecture is conceived as a biological urban ecosystem: utilising and providing back to the local biodiversity whilst responding materialistically to the surrounding context.
Technology is adopted to maximise the use of the natural resources available. PV panels cover the roof for energy capture and solar lights allows natural light to penetrate areas that would usually need artificial lighting.
The double height vertical garden wall is placed on the north facing main façade, providing a much-needed green break to the commercial strip and a pocket of oasis to the local biodiversity.
Masonry and glass ties the building back to the brick terrace structure of the adjacent commercial shops.
